CASEWV Family Day Care Food Program

Family Day Care Food Program

The Family Child Care Food Program (FCCFP), a part of the USDA's Child and Adult Care Food Program, is designed to ensure that children in licensed family child care settings receive nutritious meals and snacks, promoting healthy growth and development. By partnering with sponsoring organizations like CASEWV, providers serve meals that meet USDA meal pattern requirements and receive reimbursements. This program not only alleviates the financial burden of food costs for providers but also offers parents peace of mind knowing their children are receiving balanced meals, while fostering healthy eating habits in young children.

Who is eligible for the food program?

Any licensed in home family childcare provider is eligible to participate in the Child Care Food Program.

To qualify for CACFP, it is required that you have at least one child (other than your own) in care, and you must hold a certificate of registration from the West Virginia Department of Human Resources. You can be registered as a Family child care provider caring for 6 children or a Family child care Facility caring for 12 children.

There is NO COST to enroll in the program.

The first step to enrollment is to call the Food Program at 304.324.0453 and answer a few simple questions about your program. An initial visit to your program will be set up at your convenience to continue the enrollment process. The visit will help you understand the program and the paperwork involved.
