Preschool Transportation

  • Care

We understand how important safe and reliable transportation is for your child. That's why we're happy to provide transportation services for our Head Start children in Mercer and Summers counties.

We operate nine different routes to get your child to and from our program safely. We also make sure every child can get to and from all of our exciting field trips!

While we don't currently have transportation for our Early Head Start program, we take pride in the safety of all our buses. Each one is equipped with state-of-the-art safety equipment, including five-point restraint systems for children. For an extra level of care, every bus has a dedicated driver and bus monitor.

To make sure we can provide the best and safest service for your child, we do require a transportation agreement to be completed before services can begin.

  • Safety

Safety is our top priority, and we know it's yours too. Going over bus safety rules with your child is a great way to help keep them safe and sound on their daily ride. Taking a few moments to review these important guidelines with them can make a big difference!

    Bus Safety Guidelines

Listen to the bus driver. They're there to keep everyone safe.

Wait in a safe spot. Stay off the roadway while waiting for the bus to arrive.

Be on time. Arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled pickup time.

Cross in front of the bus. If you need to cross the street, always walk several steps in front of the bus so the driver can see you.

Use good manners. Behave appropriately while you're waiting for the bus.

Tell the driver your name if they or the bus monitor ask for it.

Use the handrails when you're getting on and off the bus, and only get on and off at your assigned stop.

Stay seated while the bus is moving.

Be quiet when the dome lights are on, when the bus is backing up, or when the bus is at a railroad crossing.

Keep food and drinks off the bus.

Keep your hands and arms inside the bus at all times and don't throw anything out the windows.

Avoid any behavior that might be distracting or unsafe for others on the bus.

Put away cell phones and other electronic devices while on the bus.
